Did Chrono Trigger Rip off a 1983 Fantasy Novel?

Author: Staff
Published: September 14th, 2024
The staff here at Chrono Shock were sitting around playing a game of Smash Bros Ultimate when one of the unpaid interns casually said something that made our jaws drop:

"Chrono Trigger is just a ripoff of The Anubis Gates anyway..."

Needless to say, we had to go grab several copies of the book and decide for ourselves.

So what's the verdict? We're still deciding here (and by that I mean we've formed into two groups - ripoffists and anti-ripoffists - and we're fighting with nerf guns). So if you're a Chrono series fan, give the book a read, and decide for yourself. It's really quite good.
